"This is music made by kids but is not kid music...

This is potent, passionate, and personal...

...this is raw and real and happening right now in our own backyard...

This is My Voice Music."
- Matthew Bernstein, Oregon Music News

Each year My Voice Music asks nearly 1,000 youth to share their voice through music.  My Voice Music travels to treatment centers, high schools, alternative schools, and hosts free music programs for youth in need.

All the songs are written and recorded by the youth from our programs.  Each song stands alone as a work of art.  Some songs represent young artists deliberately using their art for social change.  Other songs are powerful examples of personal expression.  Most importantly, they represent the voice of our youth.

The Kinnaman Collection

The songs below are some of the silliest songs we have ever heard.  These songs were recorded during a one week music class focussed on teaching the basic concepts of conflict resolution with 4th Graders at Kinnaman Elementary.  These songs were written by students and put to music by Portland musicians.  They speak to the real life problems of a 4th grader including video games, chores, sisters and moms.  If you're interested click the link to read our blog about this program:  27 Songs in 6 hours
